Hey Grandpa, Let’s Play Ball

From John Shannahan

Does the arrival of warmer weather send you in search of your old Fred Lynn model fielder’s glove?  Do photos of gerbils cause you to become unreasonable enraged at the memory of Don Zimmer?  Does the sight of Kevin Costner “having a catch” with his on-screen father bring you to tears?

If any of the above apply, maybe you should consider joining other similarly afflicted town residents on Sunday nights at Goodwill Park for some good-hearted softball action.  The Holliston Senior Softball League is pleased (or so we believe) to announce the creation of the Grandpa Division, designated for players 55 or older.

The action (if you can call it that) begins on Sunday, April 18th and runs (another interesting word) through June. The fun is beyond measure.

Interested players should contact Kevin Conley at kpconley100@gmail.com , or show up.  Games begin at 6 PM and are followed by intensive skull sessions and game strategy reviews at Anthony’s on the Green. Spouses are advised not to wait up.

Will this conflict with the over 35 Sunday night men’s league in which a lot of potential grandpas play?

It is part of the same league. Just a new division. Kerry should play!

Are spectators allowed to view the “action”?

Box seats could be expensive for spectators.
    Bleachers are very inexpensive!
