David Allen Griffith at 79

David Allen Griffith, 79, of Franklin and resident of Holliston for 55 years, passed away at the Rose Monahan Hospice House in Worcester on September 24, 2021. Born in Schenectady, New York, he was the only child of Dorothy (Spring) and Joseph A. Griffith. He was the husband of 56 years to Linda (Queen) Griffith of Franklin. 

He was a graduate of Mont Pleasant High School in Schenectady, New York and earned his Bachelor’s degree from University of Buffalo in 1965. He enjoyed his career as a sales representative in the electron microscopy industry in New England.  

David was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many. An active member of the First Congregational Church of Holliston, he was a Deacon, a member of the choir and hand bell choir and served on many committees. For a number of years he was a member of the Wesley Methodist Church in Framingham where he was Treasurer, and involved the music program.  David enjoyed coaching soccer and softball when his children were young. He was a talented photographer and won many contests.  He enjoyed traveling with his family and took pleasure in boating and camping. His grandchildren and great-grandchild were his greatest joy. Many fun memories were made tubing on Lake Winnisquam with them.  

He was the husband of Linda Q Griffith, whom he met at the University of Buffalo, father of Jody Hagan ( Fitzpatrick) of Weare, New Hampshire, Daniel Griffith (Rae Finn) of Foxborough, MA; grandfather of Molly Hagan ( Daniel Slater), Hannah, Jack, and Seamus Hagan,  Jake and Joey Griffith, Devin, Brady, and AbbyRae Wells; great-grandfather of Brayden Slater. 

Visitation will be held on  Saturday, October 2, 2021 from 4-6 pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com. A memorial service celebrating Dave’s life will be held on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at 1 pm at the First Congregational Church of Holliston. Interment will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery, Holliston.
