Keeping It Local in Holliston on Saturday

It was Shop Local Saturday. We ventured out to see how local shops were doing. We picked up a few stocking stuffers along the way.

Donna and her ‘elves’ were stocking up at the Candy Cottage (top left). The Bird and Bear Collective had a Saturday special that drew shoppers (right). At the bottom, a reminder for those out and about – tis the season of giving.
John and Carol had a line at the checkout counter of Fiske’s (top left). Sue (right), the owner of Gracefully Restored, was greeting customers as she was winding down business at this location – stay tuned for future plans. You can’t plan some things – Santa rode by just at the right time.

Then home for a lunch break, before heading out for the afternoon foray. The Lions Light Up Holliston tree lighting at Blair Square.

Boy Scouts from Troop 73 were making gooey S’mores (left). Girl Scouts were caroling (top right). And several smaller trees were decorated by local groups – the one above is from the Historical Society.
(L-R) Chip Fagan, Guy Oliver, SGT Jack Lantina (Toys for Tots representative receiving donation from Mr. Oliver and the Holliston Lions), State Rep Carolyn Dykema, Lions’ Representative Joy, and Holliston Select Board Vice-chair Ben Sparrell

And then the moment everyone was waiting for. Lion, Steve Apesos and the gathered dignitaries, led the crowd in the countdown to the tree lighting.

Ta da!

What a great start to this Holiday Season. Enjoy!
