April Library Events

From Leslie McDonnell, Library Director

The Morning Book Club at the Holliston Library will read Four Winds by Kristin Hannah on Monday, April 4, at 11 am, and the Mystery Book Club will read The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth on Tuesday, April 12, at 11 am.  The History Book Club meets on Monday, March 28, at 10:30 am to share a book they have enjoyed recently with the group.  All three groups offer both in-person and virtual attendance simultaneously and welcome new members.  Register to receive a Zoom invitation.

King Richard is the selected film for Movie Monday on Monday, April 11 at 12:30 pm.  The film stars Will Smith as the father of Venus and Serena Williams and is nominated for Best Picture and Best Actor Oscars.  The film will be viewed in person at the library.

Readers who would like to learn how to use electronic books, downloadable audiobooks, digital magazines and streaming movies and TV are offered in-person training for beginners by appointment or drop-in at the library.  Email holreturns@minlib.net or call 508-429-0617 for more info.  Participants should bring their device, their Amazon login and password for a Kindle and their Apple ID for iPads and iPhones if these logins are not saved on the device already.

As the weather becomes warmer, residents are encouraged to visit Story Book Walk on the Holliston Rail Trail.  The spring title will be Forever Home by Cathy Stenquist and Erica Leigh, a heartwarming story about animal rescue, for ages 3-7.

The Holliston Garden Club will arrange a display for Arbor Day at the library on April 21 through May 5.  Arbor Day (April 29th this year) originated in Nebraska City 1872 and has since been recognized as a day to plant and care for trees and clean up local public areas.  For more information on library programs or to sign up, visit www.hollistonlibrary.org or call 508-429-0617 or email Lmcdonnell@minlib.net
