Still Wearing o’ the Green at the Senior Center

For some, St. Patrick’s Day spans more than just twenty-four hours. This year the annual St. Pat’ Luncheon at the Holliston Senior Center, was held on March 23rd. A week later the Irish spirit was still visible as about 75 guests decked out in shades of green dined on a traditional corned beef dinner.

Above, Senior Center Director Lisa Borchetta welcomed the guests and introduced the musical guest, Roger Tincknell. Mr. Tincknell’s performance was sponsored by the Holliston Cultural Committee.

To serve those attending takes a group effort. Below are several of the volunteers and staff that made for a delightful experience.

Once the chafing dish lids were removed, the hungry guests lined up to get corned beef with all the fixings.

Once the Irish music started to be played, it was hard to keep from dancing as retired Sr. Ctr. Director Linda Marshall demonstrated below.

Of course, even without adult beverages, you couldn’t keep the participants from joining in to sing many of the Irish classics. Below, Mr. Tincknell demonstrated his Limberjack’s dancing ability as he sang a lively Irish ditty. And some of us find it hard to walk and chew gum at the same time!

As all good things must do, it was time to head home with a full bellies and happy melodies replaying, and fond memories of a good times with friends.
