Vision Becomes Reality

The drawing of a veterans’ monument honoring those deployed in the Iraq and Afghanistan Wars has become a tangible structure. Pass by the Blair Square area off Central Street to view the product of a desire to honor these veterans, where hundreds of hours of planning and building and the efforts of many artisans and donors is now in place.

The formal dedication will be on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at 10:00 AM, to publicly recognize the work that has been accomplished. Put May 14 on your calendar and join in the dedication. The hands of many remind us that Freedom is precious as we honor those who protect the many rights and privileges, we enjoy every day.

Veterans will be marching to the sight from the VFW post, down the Rail Trail at approximately 0930 hours on Saturday morning. All veterans are invited to join the approximately .4 mile march.

A very nice job and a fitting tribute to those who served.
