Helpers Needed to Bedeck Downtown with Colorful Mums

It’s been a hot dry summer and now that fall is upon us, the Downtown Marigold Project is looking to put some color back along the main roads in town. Anyone with a pickup truck is needed to transport potted mums from 260 Highland Street (Mayor’s Plantation) to downtown locations.

Those with a shovel are also needed to plant the mums. Multiple locations are scheduled for plantings including the Central Burial Grounds, Congregational Church, Hollis Street, Casavant Realty, Bird & Bear, Blair Square, Gooch’s Corner, Phipps Square (Washington & Woodland), Historical Society, Police Station, and Town Hall.

Those with a pickup will meet at the Plantation on Wednesday, September 14th at 7 am. Those willing to plant (you don’t have to have a green thumb) will begin at designated locations at 9 am. If you have a few hours of free time, now is the opportunity to give back to the town.

Let’s have the town looking great for Celebrate Holliston and the fall season. Contact Bobby Blair if you can help out at Mudvillemayor@gmail.com or 508-429-6763.
