Seen Around Town on Halloween Weekend

Members of Scout Troop 73 set up a camp site on Saturday.

Sunday offered many opportunities for folks to dress in their Halloween get up once and participate in a few events around town. The Newcomers and Neighbors club sponsored “The Great Pumpkin Trail Walk.” Unlike the sign below, there was serious treats available as prizes along the walk.

Check in was at Blair Square and extended along the trail to the west.
Several different games were set up for everyone’s enjoyment.

Down Washington Street, the Holliston Police were hosting their annual Pumpkin Patrol with vehicles on display, pumpkins to paint, and sweet treats for all.

Traffic Safety Officer Charles Grace stands near HPD’s truck, while his daughter Lily is at the wheel!
Astrid Burke had a great time producing a very colorful pumpkin as her mother looks on.
(L-R) Maggy, June, and Trey Archimbault check out Holliston Public Safety’s Utility Vehicle. Maggy is sporting a “Mom – Ster” shirt.

People of all ages seem to get into the Halloween spirit by dressing up as evidenced above. Halloween fell on Monday this year which meant workers could get in on the celebrating. If you happened to go to Town Hall on Monday – to pay your taxes, water bill, or vote, you might have spied some “different” public servants.

“Buzzy” was the brains behind the costume contest that Town Hall employees really got into.

Witches, nurses, “Hostess Cupcakes,” and “Jake from State Farm” were spotted doing their jobs on Monday.

“Buzzy” collected all the votes (not the State Election ballots) to determine the best costume awards.

First Prize (a Witch Trophy) went to Cheryl DesRochers as Mary Poppins Second Prize was Sherrie Bates as Wonder Woman, and Third Prize went to Ann Adams as Morticia Addams (see what she did there).

You really need to get out around town on any day of the week to catch sites like these.
