Vincent Trunfio at 97

Vincent Trunfio, 97 a resident of Holliston for the past 65 years, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 28, 2023. Vincent was born and spent his childhood years in East Boston, he was the son of the late Philomena (Marcella) and Paul Trunfio. He had four siblings all of whom predeceased him. 

Vincent served overseas in the Army in France and Germany during WWII. Upon returning home, he attended Boston University where he received his undergraduate and graduate degrees.  It was at B.U. where he was introduced to his future wife Susan while she was singing in a Choir. They were later married in Nantucket and recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. The two were inseparable during their time together.

Vincent spent nearly forty years as a middle school music teacher for the town of Belmont, MA. He was an accomplished pianist and taught many Holliston residents lessons from his home for over twenty years.

One of his many passions in life was traveling. As a young man he biked through Europe. Vincent and Susan later traveled to many countries, spending time in Europe, South America, Asia and winter months in the Dominican Republic. He also enjoyed family outings and being with his friends. Vincent was honored to serve as a past commander of the Holliston VFW and also was a member of the Holliston Lions Club where he took pride in his fundraising. 

Besides his wife Susan, Vincent is survived by his daughter Michele and her spouse Rochelle, son Mark and his spouse Laura and son Eric. He also leaves behind three grandchildren Stephanie, Alexis and Paris, whom he adored. He had many nieces and nephews. 

A private burial service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
