Adam Rothschild of Stowe, Vermont passed away peacefully in his home on October 21, 2025.
Born and raised in Holliston, Massachusetts, Adam graduated from Holliston High School and attended Worcester Academy. He later moved to Johnson, Vermont, where he discovered his passion for rugby. Drawing on his football background, Adam quickly became one of the most beloved players for the Mad River Rugby Club in Stowe.
Adam married Susan in Stowe, they welcomed two children, Ben and Anna, who were the pride of Adam’s life. He spent over 20 years working in hospitality, serving in hotels and bars, before transitioning to a successful career in insurance sales. Throughout his life, Adam remained deeply connected to the Mad River Rugby Club—playing, supporting, and living the spirit of the game.
Adam was known for his warmth, loyalty, and the deep connections he maintained with family and friends across Vermont and Massachusetts. He is survived by his wife Susan Rothschild; his children Ben (22) and Anna (21); his loyal pup, Winnie; his mother Francine Shogel and her husband Steven Crapser; his father Stephen Rothschild and his wife Carol; his sister Melissa (Rothschild) Duca and her husband Tony; his niece Halle; his in-laws and extended family in Barre, VT He was predeceased by his nephew Jake. Adam was deeply loved and will be profoundly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Matterhorn Bar in Stowe, Vermont on Saturday, November 1st from 3–6 PM. Friends and family are invited to attend and honor Adam’s memory. His family kindly requests that attendees bring stories and photos to share in remembrance.
