Holliston’s Library Trustees met Wednesday, June 29, 2022, for the final meeting prior to its summer break.  Karla Alfred, Chair, called the remote meeting to order at 7:00 PM. 

The Town of Holliston has many exciting opportunities for residents to participate in local government through an appointment to a Board, Committee or Commission.

Ken Szajda (below), Chair, opened the combined remote meeting of the Finance Committee (FC) and the Select Board (SB) on Tuesday, June 28, at 7 PM, with all members of both groups and Travis Ahern, Town Administrator, present. The two groups were combined for the purpose of conducting interviews and selecting a candidate to fill the current vacancy seat on the FC.

Senior Center Assistant Director Amanda Boralessa-Looper (yes wedding bells recently rang for Amanda and her husband) shares what’s on tap at or through the Holliston Senior Center.

The attached flyer answers questions about the vaccines now available for children from 6-months to 5 years.
Also, several local medical and retail outlets are listed.
The Holliston Health Department forwarded this information for distribution.

The Holliston Select Board convened for its weekly meeting on Monday, June 27, 2022. Chair Ben Sparrell called the meeting to order at 7:00pm to attend to what he called a “robust” agenda. Findings and recommendations related to two engineering studies were on the docket.

The Central Massachusetts Mosquito Control Project has released its spraying schedule for July in Holliston.

The Summer Concert series kicks off this week on Tuesday. Several Board and Committee are on tap this week – all are accessible via Zoom (at least until July 15th).

History is made every day. Most of it doesn’t land in the archives; nevertheless, history is constantly happening – even here in Holliston. Now that Holliston is approaching the 300th anniversary – our tricentennial – in 2024, looking at our history takes on a new sense of urgency to record what Holliston looks like today.
