Under the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection’s Water Management Act Permit to the Town of Holliston, the Holliston Water Department is mandated to impose a Water Ban every year on nonessential outdoor water use; the Water Ban is effective May 1st to September 30th. This year due to the drought conditions the restrictions are extended through November 1, 2020.

Properties with EVEN STREET NUMBERS may water lawns on TUESDAY and THURSDAY before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM. You may also wash vehicles, wash exterior building surfaces, wash down driveways and walkways – using hand-held hose with nozzle attached during the same hours on TUESDAY AND THURSDAY.

Properties with ODD STREET NUMBERS may water lawns on WEDNESDAY and FRIDAY before 9:00 AM and after 5:00 PM. You may also wash vehicles, wash exterior building surfaces, wash down driveways and walkways – using hand-held hose with nozzle attached during the same hours on WEDNESDAY AND FRIDAY.

  ++ There is NO outdoor water usage between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm. ++

++ Hand-held only use is allowed on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays. ++

Any person who violates any provision of this by-law may be penalized by a noncriminal disposition as provided in General Laws Chapter 40, Section 21D, any person who violates any provision of this bylaw shall be subject to a penalty in the amount of a warning for the first offense, one hundred dollars ($100) for the second offense, and two hundred dollars ($200) for each subsequent offense. Each day or portion thereof shall constitute a separate offense. Each condition violated shall constitute a separate offense.
