Holliston LEO Club Highlights Video Airing On HCAT-TV

HCAT Production Manager Don Cronin gives direction to members of the Holliston LEO Club.

Holliston has its very own Television station – “Holliston Cable Access.”  The main purpose of HCAT-TV is to produce and televise all sorts of community television shows for the local viewing audience. Producing a TV show includes some technical knowledge and a certain level of creativity. Some residents are aware that HCAT employs a small staff and relies heavily upon volunteers to uphold our mission.

Performing community outreach is a way of getting various groups and non profit organizations to participate in the production process. Up until the pandemic struck a little more than a year ago, HCAT staff worked side by side with members of the Holliston LEO Club, a group that is based in Holliston High School.

Club members teamed up with HCAT and were eager to learn how to produce their own video which is used to showcase some of the service projects that the group participates in. Some activities include working with the Lions Club Eyemobile where students are able to assist with screening for glaucoma and detecting other eye related conditions. The LEOs also helped with other events, such as the Medway Lions’ Palm Sunday pancake breakfast, the Holliston Lions’ Breakfast with Santa, and a Lions’ district event called ‘Stop Hunger Now’ a program to help package meals to be sent to third world countries. The Holliston LEO Club motto is *Leadership * Experience * Opportunity. The Holliston LEO Club is the high school version of the Lions Club.

Viewers can watch a short video which highlights some of the LEO Club activities on HCAT’s Video On Demand by clicking https://hcat.viebit.com/player.php?hash=RnVIUZUvYLbA. It can also be seen on HCAT’s Facebook page and You Tube channel, as well as on HCAT TV channels Comcast ch. 8 and Verizon ch. 32.
