A Poem from Douglas Brown: “Winter’s Wait”

Winter’s Wait

I heard it from the crocus,
And the forsythias that wait.
To the springtime we must focus, But this year it may be late.

It’s been a long cold winter season, Lots of snow’s still yet to fly.
So for no other simple reason,
We should dream of warmer skies.

When we can trek throughout the woodlands, To traverse across the trails.
With where the maples and the oaks stand, O’er the hills and all the dales.

So, remember as you ponder,
If you’re distressed by all the snow. Springtime’s seeds have all been planted, They’re waiting patiently below.
