Thank you to all the candidates that took the time to run for office and congratulations to all those candidates that were successful in their election bids.

Thank you to those interested in serving the Town, and to those that took the time to vote! Additional thanks and congratulations to our Town Clerk on a smooth election and a new term!

For those that are interested in serving, but perhaps don’t like the idea of running for a Board or Committee, we also have needs for open appointed seats on Boards and Committees. The Town website shows current vacancies (updated as changes happen) so please take a look and reach out if interested:

If you would like to get involved but aren’t sure of the right fit, there is also a form at the bottom that allows you to indicate interest and provide background information, and the Town Administrator’s Office can then follow up to discuss potential fits.

Congratulations to all who took the time to run and to those who won! People who serve the town either elected or appointed find they often get more back than they expected.

With the recent resignation of a currently-serving member of the Finance Committee, I would urge the Select Board and FinCom to strongly consider the appointment of Hayley Fetrow to the vacancy. Not only do I believe her to be qualified as knowledgeable about local and state financial issues, but she is a thoughtful and respectful listener and skillful agent of compromise for the good of the entire community. And she has certainly demonstrated her interest as a recent candidate for election to the FinCom (and her 561 votes indicates many in the community support her as well).
