Terra Nova is a historical fiction novel set in 1910 and will have you on the edge of your seat from cover to cover.  Lazaridis takes us on two interwoven journeys throughout the novel.  The first follows James Watts and Edward Haywood, explorers and friends, on their treacherous race to become the first to conquer the South Pole. The second story is set back in London and is told by Haywood’s wife, Viola, as she waits for her husband to return.  Viola finds passion in the Women’s Suffrage Movement and soon discovers her skill as a photographer is a useful tool for the cause.  But society and social standing don’t approve of this behavior from a woman living on her own, and soon Viola finds herself facing some tough decisions.  Throw in an unexpected love triangle and you have a riveting story that has something for everyone!

“A haunting story of love, art, and betrayal, set against the heart-pounding backdrop of Antarctic exploration, Terra Nova is a novel that challenges us to consider how love and lies, adventure and art, can intersect.”

We are excited to recommend this book so we can also invite you to join us for a live book discussion with the author on February 2.  Henriette will be visiting Aesop’s Fable to talk all about the book and her experience writing and publishing. Of course, she will also sign books for you.  The discussion will be moderated by NY Times best-selling author, Rory Power.  Register early, as attendance is limited.  This is sure to be a lively and interesting evening! We hope you will read with us this month and join us for the book chat! Terra Nova will be 10% off at Aesop’s Fable during the month of January.
