This summer, a team of Holliston 5th and 6th graders will be participating in the Cooperstown Dreams Park 12U Baseball Tournament. This national invitational tournament brings teams from all over the country together in the birthplace of baseball, Cooperstown, NY.

This group of 11 boys is so excited to represent Holliston and play a lot of baseball! (The 2023 Holliston Cooperstown team is not affiliated with HYSBA.) Led by parent coaches Steve Rebello and Parker Snyder, the boys will spend a week in August in Cooperstown at this once in a lifetime experience. It has been about 6 years since Holliston has had a team represented at the Tournament.

The team is responsible for expenses related to tournament entrance fees, uniforms, umpires, and lodging for the team and coaches at the Cooperstown Dreams Park Complex. To help defray player costs and to involve the community, the team and families have organized a couple fundraisers this spring. 

On April 7th, the boys hosted a baseball clinic for kids ages 5 – 9 at Flagg Field (above). The boys prepared the field and training stations for the 20 kids that attended. There were fielding and hitting stations, and the always popular relay races. Each station was led by 2 – 3 team players and there was lots of learning and fun! The team raised about $500 through the registrations for this event.

The other fundraiser the boys have organized is a raffle calendar for the month of May 2023. Each day has a prize from a local business, with over $1500 worth of prizes for the month. Calendars cost $20 and can be purchased online and in person from any player or at our table in front of Fiske’s on Saturday, April 22nd and April 29th 10am – 2pm.
