Help Holliston Lions Help Hawaii

The fires in Hawaii have been devastating for the area. Currently, there are more than 100 confirmed dead and still more than 400 remain missing. This is one of the deadliest fires in U.S. history.

There were a total of three fires: Olinda where more than 1,000 acres were burned, Kula where 202 acres were burned and Lahaina with more than 2,000 acres burned. The devastation is widespread, thousands of people have been displaced from their homes. Historical buildings are now in ruins, families are without anything except the clothes on their back.

Families and Communities Need Our Help

While $8.5 million has been distributed to Maui residents, including $3.6 million for direct rental assistance by FEMA, there is a lot more work to be done. Families have lost everything except the clothing they were wearing.

Over the next several months and years, Hawaii will have significant rebuilding to do and that is where you can help the Holliston Lions provide additional support. Thanks to our foundation, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) we are able to distribute funds directly to the communities who need it most.  LCIF has already sent emergency grants to the area to help the communities which were impacted.

How You Can Help

The Holliston Lions Club has already committed $2,000 to the disaster relief fund and you can help us donate even more. Today, you can send a tax-deductible check payable to LCIF to us and we will ensure that it is donated immediately to be used for these relief efforts. Our mailing address is PO Box 6112, Holliston MA 01746. We will be collecting donations between now and September 15th.

If you have any questions about LCIF, you may contact the Holliston Lions LCIF Chairperson, Lion Mike McKenna by using our online contact form.
