Holliston Man to lead National Marine Corps League

In the sixth grade Warren Griffin moved from West Roxbury to Natick, and in 1975 to Holliston. At the height of the Vietnam War, Griffin informed his father that his college career was ending as he had signed up for the U.S. Marines. With a MOS (military occupational specialty) 0849 (naval gunfire), Griffin would find himself outside of DaNang Vietnam in a place called Dong Ha. When the 3rd Marine Division was sent home, Griffin was reassigned to the Mekong Delta area before returning home at twenty years of age. Returning home, Griffin returned to his studies at Framingham State College and a career in teaching retiring in 2007 from Hyde Park. Married to his wife Cheryl the couple reside at 54 Shaw Farm Road, and on

August 18th Griffin was installed as the National Commandant of the Marine Corps League in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The Marine Corps League was founded in 1937 and functions with ten regional areas. While many of the groups meetings will be held virtually, Griffins next trip will be in November to Washington D.C. For the Marine Corps birthday on November 10th, and serives on the 11th (Veterans Day) at Arlington National Cemetery. Griffin hopes to focus on youth physical fitness and equine rehabilitation for veterans during his term in office which will be for two years.
