Henry Dellicker

Henry A. Dellicker, Jr., 89, a longtime resident of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Ruth (Pearson) and Henry A. Dellicker, Sr. He was the beloved husband of 68 years to Jackie (Sturtevant) Dellicker of Holliston.

Henry was a proud Navy veteran, having served during the Korean Conflict from 1953-1957. He was a member of the American Legion and the VFW. Henry was a well-respected, dedicated and active member of the Holliston community. There wasn’t much Henry wasn’t involved in. He served on the town’s Planning Board for two separate terms, totaling 14 years, and the Select board for two separate terms, for a total of 12 years. He was on the Select board during the Blizzard of ‘78. He was a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals, and was a chair on the building committee for the very first police station the town built, as well as the current police station. He was also on the school building committee, a hall monitor at Holliston High School, was a Cub Master for Pack 74 and a Little League umpire. He was past President of the Kiwanis Club. He was a head of the civil defense of emergency management and was chairman for the 250th and the 275th birthdays for Holliston. He enjoyed helping out at the town elections and was a COA chairman of the senior center. He was honored to have been chosen as Holliston’s 2003 Citizen of the Year. Most importantly, Henry was a dedicated husband, father and grandfather.

n addition to his wife Jackie, Henry is survived by his five sons: Lee Dellicker and his wife, Liz; Mark Dellicker (Terry); Dale Dellicker and his wife, Sandy; Scott Dellicker and his wife, Kathy; and Gary Dellicker and his fiancee, Alison. He also leaves behind 17 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his sister, Judith Dellicker, and his grandson, Christopher Walk.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday , November 28th from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A private burial will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Holliston Food Pantry, 73 Charles St. Holliston, MA 01746, to Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB) https://www.ebresearch.org/, or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation at msfocus.org.

    Dear Jackie and family – My deepest condolences. I was incredibly saddened to hear about Henry’s passing. He was a truly wonderful person and the embodiment of what makes Holliston the wonderful community that it is. His presence and contributions will be missed by all. May his memory be a blessing to you and all who knew him.
