Louisanne Colombel Pannacciulli, 90, of Holliston passed away in her home with her son and daughter attending on Monday, October 30, 2023. Born in Maroué, Lamballe-Armor, France, she was the youngest daughter of Anne (Douard) Colombel and Louis Colombel. She was the devoted wife of 66 years to the late Frank Pannacciulli of Holliston.

Louisanne grew up in Brittany, France and was raised by her maternal grandmother for the first few years of her life while her mother worked away from home to support three children after her husband passed away. Once reunited, they lived in Lamballe until Louisanne moved to Paris for fashion design school, after which she moved to Germany to nanny with a family to start out her adult life. While there, she attended a dance in Luxembourg and met her future husband who was stationed in Germany during the Korean war. While he was still stationed in Europe, the two spent many hours together and began planning to reunite in the United States to wed as soon as Louisanne could get her visa. It took two years, but finally Lousianne was able to go to the United States to marry her sweetheart.  She booked passage on the Queen Elizabeth II, which was redirected to Canada due to an East Coast dock strike. Once in Canada, she booked passage on a train to New York City to be greeted and gathered by her future husband and new family whom she immediately fell in love with and was excited to start a new life embraced in their hearts.

She studied hard and became a citizen of the United States in 1960. She learned to drive and became a loving and attentive wife and mother.  Her interests included her talent for sewing and she became well known in her circle for her ability to alter clothing, make removable upholstered slipcovers, and design and construct boat canvases all on her small domestic sewing machine.  Louisanne also loved finding orphaned antiques and refinishing them to fill her home with beautiful furniture.  She always dressed classy and often sported a stylish scarf, hat, and accenting jewelry whenever she was a guest, hosting, or going out for some special occasion. 

Louisanne was also known for collecting friends and adopting them into the family.  She loved freely and was loved well. The family has grown by many who are not blood related. Her friends and loved ones knew her to love her family and friends, enjoy boating and taking off for the occasional weekend alone on the boat, and for getting into little scrapes that became funny stories to tell for years later.  She loved to laugh and entertain her French family whenever they visited and to visit them in France with her American family.

She is survived by her sister, Marie-Louise Colombel  of Carnac, France, her  two children, Christine Moyer and her husband, Clinton of Upton; John Paul Pannacciulli of Holliston and his former wife, Lily Prek as well as her sons, Christian Merfeld and his husband Mike Merfeld; Orlando Sann and his partner, Annie Tang and their children Chase and Madelyn; and Richard Sann and his wife, Lily Chan Sann and their children, Selena and Evelyn. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Robert Pannacciulli and his wife, Edie of Pitman, NJ; her grandchildren, Grant Moyer and his wife, Jessica Cashman and Annelise Moyer; her nephews, Michael Pannacciulli and James Pannacciulli and his wife, Molly, and her beloved cats. She will be joining in heaven her husband Frank Pannacciulli and brother Jean-Paul Colombel.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10th  from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. A funeral service will take place at the funeral home on Saturday, November 11th  at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org  or Alzheimer’s Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090-6011 There will be a lunch reception from 12:30 to 4:00 p.m. following the funeral at the Upton Community Center, 9 Milford St. in Upton.
