Oskar Feldmann

Oskar Hans Feldmann (Oski), 94, of Holliston passed away peacefully on Nov. 3 surrounded by family. Born on October 15, 1929 in Zurich, Switzerland, he was the only child of his loving mother Ursula Crivelli Feldmann, and father Oskar Alphons Feldmann.

At a young age, he took to his father’s profession of auto mechanic, which became his lifelong passion. After fulfilling his auto apprenticeship he proudly served in the Swiss military. He immigrated to America in 1959 and became involved in a European car dealership. It was there that on a chance encounter, he met his future wife Carol when she came in to have her Austin Healy repaired.

His extensive technical knowledge regarding Italian cars launched an early American auto racing career that would last over 6 decades, including Pit Crew Chief to multiple American and European teams. He cherished the countless friendships he made at race tracks all over the world.

He loved spending time with his family, traveling, watching auto races and repairing anything needing to be fixed. He especially enjoyed spending time on Cape Cod boating, fishing and clamming.

Oskar leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Carol Preater Feldmann, his daughter Kristen DiBerardino and her husband Mario of Switzerland, daughter Ellen Pyne and her husband Kevin of Uxbridge, son Glen Feldmann and his wife Erica of Hopkinton and three grandchildren Alexa, Calvin and Brody. He is predeceased by his daughter Karin Feldmann.

Services are to be private at this time. A celebration of life is planned for a later date. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston. www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
