Thomas James Murphy, 84, of Holliston, passed away at his home on Monday, November 27, 2023. Born in Newton, he was the son of the late Mary (Lord) and Thomas J. Murphy. He was the husband of 18 years to Carol (Lavenskie) Murphy.

Tom owned his own automotive repair shop for many years and then went on to work for Griffin Electric. He enjoyed fishing, camping, and his many trips to Ireland. He especially enjoyed time spent riding his Harley. Tom took pleasure in working around his yard and loved all of his dogs. He was a very generous man, was good to his grandchildren, and was great at remembering everyone’s birthday.

In addition to his wife, whom he has spent 26 years with, he is survived by his children, Kim Gonsalves and her husband, Charles of Hopedale, Chris Hollosi of Onset, and Tom Murphy Jr. He also leaves behind his sister, Ellen Daniels and her husband, Bill of Norwood; four grandchildren, Katelyn, Martin, Jake Matt Gonsalves and McKenna Hollosi; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 1st from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. In lieu of flowers, donations in Tom’s memory can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, alz.org or 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601
