Peter A. Fish Sr.

Peter A. Fish, Sr., 82, of Plainville, died peacefully on Friday, December 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Margaret L. (Burke) Fish for 60 years.
Born in Holliston on January 13, 1941, he was the son of the late Joseph H. Fish and Grace (Maguire) Long.

Since 1968, Peter and Margaret called Plainville home. Raised in the “Mudville” section of Holliston, Peter proudly served as a volunteer on the Holliston Fire Department from 1958-1968, attaining the rank of Lieutenant.

Before his retirement, Peter worked as a carpenter building doors and windows and was a self-employed contractor. He also worked at St. Martha’s Parish in Plainville for several years and built the alter, sacred oils cabinets and ambo, using reclaimed oak from the former pews.

Peter’s talents for repairing stained glass windows, woodworking and stone wall building are on display at his home and the homes of his children. Peter was a passionate collector of antiques and automobile memorabilia. He also enjoyed American history. Sharing intriguing history facts to all who would listen was one of his many cherished and enduring traits. If lucky, one might have even enjoyed a comprehensive tour of his museum. Peter was a member of the Austin Bantam Club of America, the Veteran Motorcar Club, and the National Builders Association.

Peter and his family are recognized as a Gold Star Family due to his father’s untimely death while serving in the Army during WWII.
