Richard Kilroy

MARION – Richard Emmett Kilroy, 85, of Marion, MA, formerly of Holliston passed
away peacefully December 9, 2023. He was predeceased by his wife Judy (the navigator)
of 57 years.

Dick was born in Buffalo, NY, on October 7, 1938 to loving parents Frederick and
Regina (Duman) Kilroy. Dick was a graduate of Saint Joseph Academy and Canisius
University. They moved to Holliston Massachusetts in 1963 to be close to the ocean. He
was a successful self-employed Manufacturers Representative for 4 decades,
collaborating with industrial activity serving the New England area.

His true passion was sailing, and he was a constant contact for sailing peers seeking
knowledge. He began sailing out of Sippican Harbor in 1969, moved full time to Marion
in 1999, sailed Marion to Bermuda races 1977, 1989, 1991, 1993, 1995 and 1999 with
family and friends. Judy and Dick resided on their sailboat Dashaway each winter from
2000 to 2013.

Dick is survived by his children, Karen Mastovsky (Dave), Kathleen Berkel, and David
Kilroy (Dana). Dick leaves behind his grandchildren Heather MacMunn (James), Emma
and Drew Mastovsky, Ryan, Kyle and Devon Berkel.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St.
Rita’s Church, 115 Front St., Marion. A celebration of Dick’s life will immediately
follow at Beverly Yacht Club, 99 Water St., Marion.

In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to Beverly Yacht Club – Junior
Sailing Program, 99 Water St., Marion, MA 02738.
