Tatyana Kraplin passed away peacefully on Monday, February 26th, 2024 at the age of 51, surrounded by close friends and family.

Tatyana, ‘Tanya’, or ‘Tanusha’, as those close to her lovingly called her, was born in Dnipro, Ukraine. Dnipro is where she grew up, became a nurse, and was happily married. She moved to Massachusetts in 1998, where she happily remained. Tanya leaves behind her loving and devoted husband of 32 years, Denys Kraplin (whom she knew since the age of 4), and their three children, Vyacheslav Kraplin and his wife Ashley Hofflin, Alex Kraplin and his wife Liz Duross Kraplin, and Julia Kraplin and her husband Michael Gaw.

Though she had many professional opportunities available to her, she decided to devote her time to raising her wonderful children: young adults of whom she was incredibly proud.

Despite her short life, the family takes solace in knowing it was a full and joyful one. She spent her time traveling the world with her family, cooking for friends and family, hosting fabulous parties, tending a vibrant garden, and bringing beauty into her home through her cross-stitching.

Tanya was the light of so many lives and the heart and soul of the Kraplin family. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. May she rest in peace.

The wake and funeral will take place on Thursday, February 29th, at St. Andrew’s Ukrainian Orthodox Church, 4 Orchard Hill Rd, Jamaica Plain, MA. Visiting hours will begin at 9 am, followed by the funeral at 10 am, and then a procession to the Gardens at Gethsemane Cemetery. The celebration of life will take place following the burial at the reception hall in St. Andrew’s. All those who knew and loved Tatyana are kindly invited.
