Holliston is currently in the process of developing a Housing Production Plan (HPP) and
going through the process of meeting its 3A “MBTA Communities” compliance. An HPP in
Massachusetts is a plan that helps municipalities better understand local housing needs
and demand, development constraints and opportunities, and their vision for the future
preservation of housing and the creation of new housing opportunities. Holliston’s last HPP
was written in 2018. This HPP will identify the Town’s housing needs and establish a five-
year housing vision. Additionally, the HPP will create goals and strategies to achieve the
community’s housing vision.

When communities encourage homes of many shapes and sizes, it helps to give people of
all different preferences, needs, socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and racial backgrounds
affordable options and keep prices from shooting out of reach. We need your help to create a
plan for housing solutions that contribute toward a healthy, equitable, and prosperous
community.

We are hard at work with our consultant JM Goldson to create our HPP Plan and work to
meet compliance with the new 3A “MBTA Communities” bylaw. As a part of this process, we
will be offering opportunities for Holliston community members to get involved and help
shape the HPP plan. Your next opportunity to participate is coming up soon! A way to

Join our Community Forum on Tuesday, March 26th from 6:00 PM – 8:00PM. This
community forum will be hosted in person in the Holliston High School Library. During the
community forum, the Town’s project consultants will discuss some of their initial findings
and provide opportunities for community members to share their vision for the HPP Plan.
