Holliston Lions Thank You

On Saturday, March 9th the Holliston Lions Club held their 19th Annual Winning O’ The Green. This is the Lions Club second largest fundraiser conducted annually, second only to the Carnival. Thanks to the ongoing support of the community, we had a very successful event.

Thanks to residents of Holliston and fellow Lions from numerous clubs, we had more than 225 people attend this event. The night was filled with fun with every 10 ticket drawn winning a consolation prize. The evening ended when two people shared the $10,000 grand prize.

We would be remiss if we did not extend the following thanks:

Steve Bradford – for his help securing a sound system

Mike Tyman – for the loan of the Boy Scouts Trailer

Neil Svendsen – for loaning us equipment

The Portuguese Club – for providing a fantastic venue for us to hold this event

Businesses in and around Holliston – for donating gift cards, gift baskets for raffles

Naturally we also want to thank everyone who purchased a ticket for this event. We appreciate your generosity.

About the Holliston Lions Club

Since January 23, 1941 the Holliston Lions Club has been proudly supporting the Town of Holliston. Each year, we sponsor Breakfast with Santa, Winning O’ The Green and the Carnival.

Some of the service projects the Lions participate in include the Veteran’s Day luncheon with the VFW and American Legion. Additionally, the Lions host a monthly luncheon for Seniors and Veterans in Holliston. Other service projects include our Lend-A-Lion project, eyeglass collection and sorting, as well as creating hats and blankets for those less fortunate.

Over the years, 18 Holliston Lions have been recognized as Citizen of the Year. It should come as no surprise the Lions Club donates thousands of dollars annually to local causes including:
Scholarships
Holliston Pantry Shelf
Toys-for Tots
Celebrate Holliston
Holliston Senior Support Foundation
HABA
On an as-needed basis to others when requested
