Spencer Statue Unveiling

Date: Saturday, March 30th

Time: 12:00 – 2:00pm

Location: 11 Frankland Road, Ashland MA 01721 / Intersection of Olive, Frankland, and West Union Streets

Parking: There is limited parking on the field to the right of the driveway. No parking on Route 135

On Saturday, March 30th from 12:00 – 2:00pm a new statue will be added to the Boston Marathon course. This time in Ashland to honor Spencer the Official Dog of the 126th Boston Marathon. 

For years, Spencer cheered on thousands of runners competing in the Boston Marathon®. Whether rain or shine, Spencer brought joy, love and smiles to all runners who passed him, making him not only man’s best friend, but the marathon’s best friend. A therapy dog from Holliston, Mass, Spencer will be remembered as the official Boston Strong dog.

This captivating statue is a true masterpiece crafted by local Canton artist, Jeff Buccacio, of Buccacio Sculpture Services, pays homage to the remarkable legacy of Spencer.

Funds were raised through a grassroots community outreach to Boston Marathon runners and friends of Spencer and Penny Facebook page.
