Holliston Lions Heart of a Lion Recipients

On April 17, the Holliston Lions Club presented their second annual Heart of a Lion Award. These awards were developed during the 2022 – 2023 Lions year by Lion Mark Ahronian. Nominations are submitted by Holliston Lions Club members and a committee then reviews the nominations.

The guidelines for this award are simple: ” The nominee shall be a member of the Holliston community (lives or works, or focuses their humanitarian efforts in Holliston) who shows an interest in the health and well-being of other members of their community. ” Recipients may not be Lions nor may they be paid employees of the town.

This year’s award recipients were:

Neil Svendsen for all of his hard work with various organizations in town including the Senior Support Foundation.

Chris Leoncini for his tireless work on behalf of not only the Holliston Lions Club but nearly every other organization in town.

Both recipients were presented with certificates from the Holliston Lions, citations from the Town of Holliston, as well as from the State. The Holliston Lions also made donations to the charity of each recipients choice in the amount of $250.

L to R – State Rep James Arena-Derosa, Heart of a Lion Chair Debbie Kerrigan, Holliston Lions President Mark Ahronian, Neil Svenden, Chris Leoncini, and Select Board Chair John Cronin
