April 4, 2024 – Durham, New Hampshire – Six outstanding innovators from Northern Massachusetts are among the 33 student inventors from throughout New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts who are advancing the Invention Convention U.S. Nationals on June 5-7 at The Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

The Young Inventors’ Program (YIP), a partner of the University of New Hampshire Leitzel Center and an affiliate program of Invention Convention Worldwide, recently held the Northern New England Invention Convention regional competition. 182 students from New Hampshire and northern Massachusetts participated in the regional competition.

“Northern New England Invention Convention is a great opportunity for students to present their creative solutions to everyday problems,” said Stacey Horne, a parent of an inventor, “My daughter enjoyed meeting fellow inventors who shared a similar passion for science. This is a great experience for all young aspiring inventors!”

“IEEE is the world’s largest society of technical professionals, publishing the most cited papers in U.S. patent applications for over a decade. These young innovators are the future of our professions and the future of our country. The inspiration of the older students and aspirations of the younger ones are a delight,” said Jim Isaak, President Emeritus of the IEEE Computer Society, a YIP sponsor, “Our tagline is ‘Advancing Technology for Humanity’, every one of the participants is on that path.”

The Northern New England Invention Convention is made possible through the support of this year’s sponsors, including University of New Hampshire Leitzel Center, Eastern Propane and Oil, Torc, IEEE New Hampshire, ASHRAE of the Granite State, Vermont Day School, Camp Invention, and Zach’s Contraptions.
