HPD Highlights from December 2019

PERSONNEL HIGHLIGHTS:

On December 2, 2019, Officer Gonzalez attended a “High Risk Domestic Violence” team meeting at the Framingham Police Department. 


On December 2, 2019, Sergeant Belson attended a half day seminar entitled, Pre-Incident Stress Debriefing for Command Staff” at the Braintree Police Department.

On December 3, 2019, Officer Charette and Officer Grace attended a one-day “LIDAR” training course at the Natick Police Department.

On December 3, 2019, Lieutenant Leurini met with an interested candidate for a position with the Holliston Auxiliary Police. 


On December 5, 2019, Chief Stone reached fourteen years (14) years of service with the Holliston Police Department. 


On December 6, 2019, Student Officers Parent and Hulme attended their academy orientation at the Plymouth Police Academy.

On December 9, 2019, Chief Stone, Lieutenant Thompson, and Lieutenant Leurini attended a radio improvement project meeting with Cyber Comm Inc., the Town Administrator, the Fire Chief Cassidy, and the Town Technology Director at Town Hall.

On December 10, 2019, Chief Stone attended the monthly Massachusetts Chiefs of Police Association (MACOP) subcommittee meeting for “School Safety and Security” along with Superintendent of Schools Dr. Brad Jackson at the Methuen Police Department.

On December 11, 2019, Sergeant Waugh attended a half-day “Traffic Incident Management Training” course at the Littleton Police Department.

On December 13, 2019, Chief Stone and Lieutenant Leurini attended Sergeant Hagan’s graduation ceremony from the “First Line Supervisors Course.” Sergeant Hagan attended this two-week course at Roger Williams University from December 2nd through December 13th

On December 17, 2019, Lieutenant Thompson met with Jim Martin from the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Board regarding our upcoming re-certification that is schedule for September 2020.

On December 18, 2019, Chief Stone attended a school safety seminar with Fire Chief Cassidy and Superintendent Jackson in Lexington, MA.

During the month of December, Sergeant Hagan and K-9 Mattis completed their sixteen (16) hours of mandatory in-service training with the Boston Police K-9 Unit.

COMMUNITY RELATIONS:

On December 4, 2019, Chief Stone and Lieutenant Leurini attended “An Evening of Spreading Hope and Building Resiliency” event sponsored by the Holliston Drug and Alcohol Awareness Coalition (HDAAC) at the Holliston Public Library.

On December 5, 2019, several members of the Holliston Police Department participated in the annual “Senior Holiday Lunch” at the Holliston Senior Center. A hot lunch/dinner from the Out Post Farm was served by members of the police department to over 120 Holliston senior citizens.

On December 7, 2019, Lieutenant Leurini and Officer Downey attended the annual “Fill- A-Cruiser” event at the Big Lots store in Ashland, MA. This event supports the Toys for Tots program.

On December 7, 2019, Sergeant Dalrymple attended the “Massachusetts Medal of Liberty Presentation” at the Holliston Senior Center. The Medal of Liberty was presented to Holliston resident Carol Thistle, sister of Medal of Honor recipient SN David G. Outlette who was killed during the Vietnam Conflict.

On December 10, 2019, Lieutenant Leurini represented the police department at the monthly “Holliston Drug and Alcohol Awareness Coalition (HDAAC)” meeting at 1750 Washington Street.

On December 12, 2019, Chief Stone, Lieutenant Leurini, Detective Maguire, Officer MacGray, School Resource Officer Digiorgio, and School Resource Officer Woods attended the annual “Shop with a Cop” event at the Target store in Framingham, MA.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

February 1, 2020 – HPD to participate in the annual “Souper Bowl” event to benefit the Holliston Pantry Shelf.

February 10, 2020 – HPD to participate in the “Community Reader” event at the Miller Elementary School.

February 2019 (Date TBD) – “Pizza with the Police” event.
