Children’s Library Events for March

Mini Golf  (Toddlers through adults)Sunday, March 1, 1:00-5:00pm

Tickets are $5 per person.  Please sign up at the Children’s Desk starting Feb. 1st. All ticket sales final.

Come play 9 holes of mini-golf in a place you already love–the library!  We provide everything–putters, balls, pencils and score cards.  You bring your family and have fun. Funded by the Friends of the Library. 

Irish Music and Magic Show (all ages)Tuesday, March 10, 5:00pm

Join Magician Debbie O’Carroll and Musician Tom O’Carroll in this fun and entertaining celebration of Irish Culture!  Stage magic, comedy, songs, lore and lots of audience participation enchant all ages with the history, language and customs of the Emerald Isle. Funded by a gift in honor of Constance O’Dell.

Stop in for a St. Patrick’s Day themed craft!

All About Trains (all ages)Saturday, March 14, 10:15am-11:30pm

Come create your own Island of Sodor!  We will provide the trains and the tracks; you will create the fun!

Feel free to drop in!

The children’s library space is chock full—so much so that books line the entrance hall as well!

Mindfulness for Kids (ages 4-7)Wednesday, March 18 and March 25, 4:30pm 

Sign up at the desk, starting February 10. Limited to 14.

Pamela Pinter-Parsons from Soul Spirit Studio will give children the tools to help with stress reduction, focus and anxiety.  We will explore yoga, movement and mindfulness and learn a variety of meditation techniques. Classes are high energy and deep relaxation!  Funded by a gift in honor of Constance O’Dell. 

No School Movie Matinee (all ages)Friday, March 20th 12:00pm

Join us for Trolls (rated PG, 1 hr 33 minutes).Feel free to bring a picnic lunch! Popcorn will be served. 

Movie Matinee and A Craft (all ages)Saturday, March 21st 10:30am

Join us for Curious George Swings Into Spring (58 minutes) Followed by a spring craft.

Paws For Reading (Grades 2-6)Tuesday, March 24th 5:30-6:30pm

Signups will begin on March 2nd.  Please sign up at the desk for a 15-minute time slot. 

Each child is given a specific 15-minute time slot for “one on one” reading time with a Therapy Dog (children must be able to read independently). Please make sure you bring something to read, or arrive a little early to pick out some books!

ONGOING PROGRAMS:

Tales and Tunes for Tots (ages 1-4 & siblings) – Wednesdays 10:15—10:45 am

Lego Club (ages 5 and up) – Every Thursday, 4-5 pm

YMCA:  Play, Learn & Grow (ages 0-8 & caregivers)Mondays 11:00am-12:00pm

The literacy-based playgroup includes a feature book themed activity, sensory and manipulative play, gross motor activities, circle time with stories and songs, and a spot for babies to play and explore! Each week Project ABC brings new and exciting themes to the playgroups, and are now focusing on STEM and STEAM activities.

Drop In Play GroupTuesdays, Fridays, & Saturdays 10:15am-12:30 pm

Make new friends, have a cup of coffee and play with toys provided by the library.
