Senior Center’s Directors Are Thanked and Welcomed

On Tuesday, May 4th a drive-by cookout was held at the Holliston Senior Center to bid adieu to retiring Director Linda Marshall and welcome the new Director Lisa Borchetta.

As with most things that happen at the Senior Center, this party was staffed by the ‘usual suspects’ who volunteer to assist the Staff in getting all the moving pieces ready to go. Of course, Linda Marshall (front left), a.k.a. “The Party Queen,” had a plan for how the magic would happen to prepare for the guests. Lisa Borchetta (back left) watched closely to capture the essentials of putting on future events.

Stealing a page from Santa’s book, Linda checked the list of registered guests. The check-in process gave folks an opportunity to thank Linda for her service and leadership. Some expressed their thanks with flowers and cards.

After checking-in, guests moved on to pick up their requested meal: grilled hot dogs / hamburgers, homemade potato salad, Linda’s secret recipe pasta salad, chips, drink and cookies.

Director Lisa Borchetta stands ready to distribute the prepared picnics to go.
Lisa delivers the goods – in this case – hot dogs with all the trimmings.
After all the guests were served Lisa and Linda could share a minute and symbolically pass the baton of Directorship.

Linda Marshall will be seen around the Senior Center for the next couple of months as she helps integrate Lisa into the day-to-day workings of the Center. Linda did share with us that she is planning to visit former Asst. Dir. Linda Sottile who now lives in South Carolina.

Welcome to the new Director! Question, when will the center display and include LBGTQ information? As an organization that receives support from BayPath Elder Services, shouldn’t the Holliston Senior Center be displaying some welcoming signs and or educational information to include transparently these elders in our community?
