Knight’s Turn Old Electronics Into Money

You may recall that in early May, the St. Mary’s Knights of Columbus Council held an electronics recycling event. The Knights partnered with the Green Team to make the tired old electronics go away.

As if by magic, the electronics went to a ‘far better place’ and the Knights received $3,400 dollars – modern alchemy!

Earlier this week, the Knight’s donated the proceeds to two worthy causes here in Holliston. The first stop was the Veteran’s Services office at 1750 Washington Street.

Holliston’s Veteran’s Service Director Sarah Bateman was presented with a check for $1,700 to be placed in the Veteran’s emergency fund. Presenting the check (and receiving Certificates of Appreciation) were: Knight Fred Cullen, Owner of Green Team recycling (left) and Grand Knight Al Scaramella (right).

The party then moved downtown to present a $1,700 donation to the Holliston Pantry Shelf. Steve Bradford (center below) graciously accepted the donation on behalf of the Pantry Shelf.

With the proceeds from the May event disbursed back into the community, the Knights are already selling raffle tickets for their annual Charity Raffle to be held in the fall. The winning tickets may still be out there so stop a Knight and buy some tickets.

Thank you to the Knights and The Green Team for thinking of us.
