Robert T. Peters at 86

Robert T. Peters, 86, affectionately known as “Bert”, of Mendon and formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Sunday, September 26, 2021.  Born in Holliston, he was the son of the late Mabel (Eddy) and Tio Peters. Bert was predeceased by his younger sister, Barbara Holbrook of Franklin and survived by his longtime partner, Helen Nice of Milford. Bert is survived by his 6 children, Robert and his wife Patricia Peters of Oxford; Karen and her husband Elmenio Dias of Bradenton, FL; Pauline Peters and her partner Teri Eori of Grafton; Charles and his wife Lisa Peters of Ft. Meyers, FL; Susan and her husband Steve Wright of Mendon and Barbara Ann and her husband Scott Barras of S. Burlington, VT; and his nieces Sandi and Jeanie and nephews Allan and Gary. Bert was a proud grandfather to 12 grandchildren and great-grandfather to 16.

Bert worked as a presser for Anthony Roberts in Milford for many years, and was a proud Union Advocate. An avid Boston sports fan, he also enjoyed golfing (and bragging about his hole in one) and spending time with his family. You would often find Bert surrounded by friends at Barry’s Place, where he would enjoy hitting golf balls. He loved to vacation in Florida with Helen.

A Celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 2nd from 10am-12pm at the Chesmore Funeral Home, 854 Washington St. Holliston. Everyone is welcome to wear their favorite Boston sports team tee in his honor. In lieu of flowers, Bert asked that donations be made to the For Kids Sake Foundation, a foundation to help end the childhood cancer Neuroblastoma, in honor of his great-grandson CJ who is a survivor of Neuroblastoma, at https://forkidssakefoundation.org/donate/ or 550 Kelley Blvd, North Attleboro, MA 02760.
