HPD Monthly Update: January 2022

Personnel Highlights:

  • During the month of January, all department members reviewed Policy 2.22 “Marijuana Policy.”
  • During the month of January, all department members reviewed Policy 2.21 “Missing and Abducted Children.”
  • During the month of January, all department members reviewed Policy 2.20 “Harassment Prevention Orders.”
  • During the month of January, all sworn members of the department received “Legal Update” training as part of their mandatory in-service requirement. The training classes were held at the Holliston Police station and taught by Attorney Justin Hanrahan of Hanrahan Consulting, Inc.
  • On January 1, 2022, Lieutenant Thompson prepared a number of annual reports for calendar year 2021 as required by the Massachusetts Police Accreditation Commission (MPAC).
  • On January 6, 2022, Officer Ryan Parent and Officer Alex Hulme reached two (2) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On January 8, 2022, Officer John Loftus and Officer David Charette reached four (4) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On January 11, 2022, Lieutenant Thompson attended an online training seminar entitled “Liability and Public Records.”
  • On January 11, 2022, Lieutenant Leurini attended the “Safe Routes to School” meeting via Zoom.
  • On January 11, 2022, Lieutenant Leurini attended the “Holliston Drug and Alcohol Awareness Coalition (HDAAC)” meeting via Zoom.
  • On January 12, 2022, Lieutenant Leurini and Administrative Assistant O’Rourke attended an online training seminar regarding the “Massachusetts Road Safety Grant Program.”
  • On January 13, 2022, Officer John Scanlon each reached thirty-six (36) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On January 13, 2022, Chief Stone and Detective Maguire attended a Jail Diversion Program (JDP) operations meeting at the Holliston Police station.
  • On January 13, 2022, Lieutenant Leurini, Traffic Safety Officer Grace, and Department of Public Works Deputy Director Walker met in downtown Holliston to discuss the recommended locations for MWRA bus stop locations.
  • On January 14, 2022, Chief Stone met with Town Administrator Ahern and Assistant Town Administrator/Human Resources Director Buckley to discuss the police department’s FY23 budget proposal.
  • On January 19, 2022, Chief Stone and School Resource Officer Woods attended a “School Safety Meeting” via Zoom.
  • On January 22, 2022, Officer Charles Grace reached four (4) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On January 27, 2022, Lieutenant Leurini, Traffic Safety Officer Grace, and Department of Public Works Deputy Director Walker met on Indian Ridge Road South to discuss the location and installation of “No Parking” signs that were recently approved by the Holliston Select Board.
  • On January 28, 2022, Lieutenant Thompson and Chief Cassidy conducted the annual inspection of the department elevator.
  • On January 29, 2022, Lieutenant Chad Thompson reached twenty-one (21) years of service with the Holliston Police Department.
  • On January 31, 2022, Detective Maguire attended an online training seminar entitled Investigation and Prosecution of Animal Cruelty” which was sponsored by the Office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan.
  • During the month of January, Lieutenant Leurini met with all five (5) patrol Sergeants for their regularly scheduled monthly meeting.
  • During the month of January, Sergeant/K-9 Hagan and K-9 Mattis completed their mandatory 16 hours of in-service training with the Boston Police K-9 Unit.
