Youth Advisory Committee: February Meeting

Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) Chair Jennifer Liebermann opened the Monday (2.7.23) night remote meeting at 7:06 PM.  Members were joined by returning Youth and Family Services (YFS) Director Jackie Winer and Kirsten Rancourt, former Interim Director and presently Community Therapist. Liebermann welcomed Winer back from her maternity leave.

Left, Chair Jennifer Liebermann and Right, Director Jackie Winer.

Winer thanked Rancourt for her work as Interim Director.  She noted ways in which Rancourt had grown in her experience leading the Department.  Winer proceeded to deliver her February Director’s Report to the Committee, beginning by sharing the great increase in the size of the wait list for clients for home services.  This is due in no small part to the demand on agencies and outside resources because of Covid.

Winer moved to the FY23 Budget Proposal for approval from the YAC.  The total FY23 Budget recommended is $161,813.00, which represents an increase of 0.17%, ($283).  (The 0% budget amount is $161.530.)  The Committee approved Winer’s recommended budget.

Winer provided a brief update on Holliston Drug and Alcohol Awareness Coalition.  HDAAC Chair Melissa Stacy will be moving to Vermont but has committed to remain Chair until the Drug Free Communities grant is submitted.

There was no update from the Holliston Community Action Fund, and Matt Putvinski, representative to Envisioning Future Holliston reported that a second survey is in progress by the group.

The next meeting for the YAC is Monday, March 14, 2022, at 7PM.  The Committee adjourned at 7:46 PM.
