The 2025 Holliston Memorial Day Committee would like to announce that U.S. Army Vietnam War Veteran Herbert Brockert, Jr. will be this year’s Memorial Day Grand Marshall. This appointment reflects his service to our country, our community and his fellow veterans. Herb was also Citizen of the Year in 2017 and was recently awarded the Heart of the Lion by the Holliston Lions Club. (Please watch for an upcoming interview with this year’s Grand Marshall).
The committee announces the following schedule of events:
Thursday, May 22, 5PM – gather at VFW for departure to Lake Grove and St. Mary’s Cemeteries for the dressing of Veterans graves. This will be followed by a flag retirement ceremony at Lake Grove Cemetery.
Monday, May 26th, 9AM – gather at VFW for departure to Lake Grove (step off 9:30 AM) and St. Mary’s (step off 10AM) for visitations.
Monday, May 26th, 10:45AM – Form the parade 310 Woodland St and Robert Adams Middle School parking lot.
Monday, May 26th, 11AM – 2024 Memorial Day parade steps off.
The parade route follows the same route as last year, Woodland St, Church St, Central St, Front St, Exchange St, Rail Road St, Central Street, Washington St.
There will be remarks at town hall, also Amazing Grace will be performed by The Southerland Bagpipe Band, The National Anthem will be performed by the combined HHS and RAMS band. Taps will be sounded by Tom Bourla.
All of the events listed above are open to the public.
