Senate President Spilka Welcomes Hundreds of MetroWest Residents to 2025 55+ Health and Wellness Fair

(FRAMINGHAM—10/18/2025) Today, Senate President Karen E. Spilka welcomed hundreds of MetroWest residents to her annual 55+ Health and Wellness Fair, a community event dedicated to connecting residents with local resources that support healthy and active living.

The free event brought together more than 300 residents and over 75 local organizations, offering information and services to promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being for individuals and families across the MetroWest region.

“Community feels more important this year than ever before,” said Senate President Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland). “Our Health and Wellness Fair brings together some of the very best of our district—connecting residents with organizations that provide tools for living healthy, happy, and connected lives. I couldn’t be prouder to see so many friends and neighbors gathered together in the same room.”

Residents had the opportunity to tour booths from local and state service providers, receive free flu and COVID-19 vaccines, and learn about transportation, health, and aging services. This year’s offerings also included live customer service support for fuel assistance, housing consumer education, home modification loan programs, and rental assistance.

Attendees participated in eleven educational seminars, covering topics such as preventing heart disease, growing microgreens at home, and exploring MetroWest’s outdoor and cultural destinations. Guests also enjoyed live music, breakfast, and lunch while connecting
with neighbors and local leaders.
