Michael D. Albro, 54, of Medway and formerly of Holliston, died unexpectedly on May 2, 2026, at UMass Medical Center, Worcester. Born in Worcester on October 6, 1971, he was the son of David and Laura Albro of Holliston and the late Barbara (Bates) Wade.

Mike graduated from Holliston High School in 1989. He attended Worcester Industrial Tech to become an optician. As a kid, he spent countless days fishing with his brother Jonathan on Holliston’s Lake Winthrop. His love of freshwater fishing as well as ice fishing continued into adulthood. Mike was a baseball fan and a talented shortstop and pitcher in his youth. He and his brother spent endless hours in their backyard playing catch and practicing their curveballs. Mike was also a devoted Patriots fan. He loved animals, especially cats and dogs. He was a huge Star Wars fan and named his beloved Yellow Lab, Vader.

In addition to his father and step-mother, Mike is survived by two children, David and Amanda Albro; his four grandchildren; 2 half siblings, Olivia and Jesse; as well as four aunts, three uncles (he was especially close with his uncle Bob Toth), several cousins; and his former wife, Lisa ( Welch) Albro. He was predeceased by his brother, Jonathan Albro.

A remembrance gathering will be held Saturday, May 16th, from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton, 57 Hayden Rowe St. Scattering of ashes will be private.
