Mixing vintage old time baseball and a bit of Americana with the unveiling Of a new Casey at the Bat statue the town kicked off the first in a series of Events to mark America’s 250th Anniversary on Saturday May 16th.
The Mudville Ball Team led the procession from Goodwill Park along with a police and fire truck escort. Town Historian Joanne Hulbert along with fellow Mudvillian Chris Cain recited Ernest L. Thayer’s poem which turns 138 years old on June 3rd.
Saying a few words were Rep. James Arena DeRosa, select board member Tina Hein – both are Mudvillians, along with Mudville Queen Meghqan Robshaw. – All Photos by Paul Saulnier.
