CALLING ALL LIVE MUSIC FANS IN HOLLISTON – Friday October 9th from 5:30-9pm at Rushford’s and Sons Tap Room, 747 Washington Street, the Holliston Community Action fund (HCAF) will crank up some home-grown music and auction off fantastic gifts and services for the holidays. Music Headliners: Duo Colin Fields and Angelo Damato. Special guest: The Jasper Anthony Downtown Band.
This 2nd Annual Fall Music Show will benefit HCAF and our community in many ways.This is a fundraising event with a live auction, silent auction and optional food truck meal. Why support HCAF? Your community action fund (HCAF) works hard to provide short-term emergency financial assistance to residents requesting assistance through the town department, Holliston Youth and Family Services. The type of assistance that has been awarded over the past year includes helping cover utility and phone bills, heating bills, car payments, and Christmas gifts for needy families. Emergency assistance has been given for help with insurance costs, school lunch bills, rent, mortgage, and health bills for example. Additionally, we promote community involvement activities for our youth. High school and middle school students work with parents on the committee to raise funds and boost awareness of the need for emergency support of our residents in need, as well as working towards community betterment projects.
PROVIDING HELP – How does a resident ask for assistance? There is a determination of need, performed by the Youth and Family Services Office of Holliston. How does HCAF do this? Donations! In past years, HCAF has conducted direct donation campaigns that have provided thousands of dollars for Holliston Families in need. The HCAF greatly appreciates the donations of individuals, as well as generous businesses like Vesta, Fiske’s, Lamont Plumbing and the Holliston Dental Associates.
