Sudbury Valley Trustees (SVT) invites the public to attend a Grand Opening Celebration for the new accessible All Persons’ Trail at SVT’s headquarters, Wolbach Farm, 18 Wolbach Road, Sudbury, MA. The ceremony is planned for October 4, 2026, from 8:00 – 11:00 a.m. There will be activities for all ages, including sensory friendly opportunities during the first hour, plus birding, forest bathing, story time, music, light refreshments, and chances to explore the trail itself.
The Grand Opening Celebration marks the completion of the planned work on this innovative project. The All Persons’ Trail provides access to nature for people who use mobility devices like wheelchairs, walkers, and strollers. The trail is free and open to the public year-round.
The gently graded trail begins from the parking lot along the Farm House Path and leads to the Picnic Grove, which features an accessible family gathering space with accessible picnic tables. The Farm House Path also features a pollinator garden, a rain garden, the Judy Mack Barn-view Terrace with café style seating, additional resting benches, and a connection to the Woodland Trail. This trail is entirely in the forest and follows Winter Brook upstream. A visit out and back to the end of the Woodland Trail comprises approximately .6 miles round trip.
“We are so pleased with the continued progress on the All Persons’ Trail at Sudbury Valley Trustees. This work expands on the Farm House Path Trail and ventures into the forest, allowing people to immerse themselves in the woods with several stopping points for birding, reading, meditation, and resting,” said Davnet Conway, SVT Executive Director.
She added, “Providing access to land and nature to the full diversity of people in our service area is a key goal of our strategic plan, and we are proud to demonstrate that commitment starting at our headquarters at Wolbach Farm with this beautiful new trail.”
“Now that the trail is done, we are turning our attention to the accessible nature play area, to be installed in 2027,” said Cecil Hynds-Riddle, SVT Director of Development. “This special place will create an entry point to nature exploration for young children and their caretakers. As with all of SVT’s public resources, the nature play area will be free to all – because everyone belongs outside! We welcome input for the play area and feedback about the trail at svtweb.org/APtrail.”
