It’s been great to see many of our small local businesses reopen over the past few weeks. It’s been inspiring to watch proprietors embracing the significant challenges around safe reopening in order to help move their businesses and the economy forward.

Data collection and reporting continues to be a key component of our pandemic response.

Expanding our ability to test for COVID-19 is an essential part of our reopening plan. As a Commonwealth, we are working to both expand capacity to test (the number of COVID-19 tests that our labs and providers can conduct per day) and access to testing (the population for whom testing is readily available).

These past few months have been trying for all of us. During Mental Health Awareness Month in May, I shared mental health and wellbeing resources in our newsletters in recognition of the importance of all of us maintaining our emotional health during the pandemic.

Today marks the first day of Phase III, the “Vigilant” phase of our reopening.
