
Carmela Adua Bonaceto, 90, of Holliston, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026. Born and raised in Norwood, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Poce. She was the wife of the late Victor A. Bonaceto.
Carmela was educated in the Norwood Public Schools and graduated from Boston University with a major in Journalism. She had worked as a member of the press at the Norwood Messenger. Carmela was an adventurous woman who loved to travel and experience new places, such as Italy, Portugal and Spain. In 1959, she was in Juneau, the capital of Alaska, when it became the 49th state of the union. She enjoyed reading and movies and had a strong interest in the Kennedy family.Carmela was a stay at home mom while her children were growing up. She then started a long career working 20 plus years at Mass Water Resources Authority in Southborough before retiring. She loved her children and grandchildren deeply and took great pride in them and their activities.
Carmela is survived by three sons, David Bonaceto of Lynn, MA, Joseph Bonaceto and his wife, Kara, of Wrentham, and Anthony Bonaceto and his wife, Randi, of Cumberland, RI. She also leaves behind 4 grandchildren, Brianna, Chris, Ashlyn and Emersyn; as well as many nieces and nephews.She is predeceased by her siblings, John Poce and Carolyn Comerford.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, March 27th, at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary’s Church of Holliston. Burial followed in Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Holliston. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
