Clarence “Ed” Coppinger III, 58, of Holliston, passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Born in Natick, he was the son of the late Clarence Coppinger Jr and Marjorie (Rooney) Morrisey.
Clarence served honorably in the United States Army as a medic and eventually rose to the rank of Sergeant. He loved serving his country and helping his fellow veterans. His dedication to helping others carried into his civilian life, where he worked as a nurse in various nursing homes. Later, he worked as a Peterbilt truck driver and started his own trucking company BWB Trucking, to see more of the United States. Clarence took great pride in being a productive member of society and to live a life of simplicity and love. He loved to travel and drive to new places, exploring nature’s beauty along the way. At home, he was often found with a book in hand, as he was an avid reader who loved stories and discovering new ideas.
Clarence is survived by three sons, Clarence Coppinger IV, Matthew Coppinger, and his fiancée, Julie Lisak, and his granddaughter Margaret and Caelan Coppinger. He also leaves behind his siblings, his brother James Coppinger and his wife, Elissa, and nephews Brady and Kaleb; and his sister, Lianne Coppinger, and niece, Faith. He is also survived by his beloved dog, Clover, as well as many friends who will always remember the mark he left on their hearts.
A service will be held at Bourne National Cemetery on Thursday, August 14th at 13:45. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to Homeless Veterans of America. Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, www.ChesmoreFuneralHome.com
