Town Administrator Travis Ahern knows that many Hollistonians check in with the Holliston Reporter Tuesday mornings to catch up on the weekly Select Board meetings. This week the Board is meeting on Tuesday evening so the weekly recap will be on Friday. Mr. Ahern has provided the information below to quench your Tuesday thirst for Town Hall scoop.

Our Town Historian Joanne Hulbert introduces us to “Old Hendrick” a Nipmuc Owasomaug family member who in the early 1800’s left “Wenakeening” because rain rarely fell in this area.
Even with the recent rains, Holliston remains in Severe Drought conditions.

The Holliston Public Library is offering two information sessions on the US Department of Labor program, Job Corps whose mission is to help young people 16 – 24 with career preparation.

Sixteen residents from Holliston will participate in the Boston Marathon® Jimmy Fund Walk presented by Hyundai on Sunday, October 2.

2022 will mark the 30th year Celebrate Holliston honors two citizens with its Citizen of the Year Award. The award is as close as Holliston gets to the UK’s MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire). Nominations from townspeople are then voted on by a select group from the Celebrate Holliston committee. The awardees come from all walks of life including business, politics, and the everyday Joes and Janes. Holliston Citizens of the Year join a most exclusive club.
