Ruth L. Fisher

Ruth L. Fisher, 83, of Holliston, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Born in Newton, she was the daughter of the late Barbara (Osgood) and Robert Worden. She was the beloved wife of 16 years to the late William E. Fisher. For more than 25 years, she also shared her life with Maurice “Raum” Desjardins, with whom she built many cherished memories.

Ruth was a vibrant, kind, and joyful woman who lived life with a generous heart and a wonderful sense of humor. She was always ready to help others, and her family meant the world to her. A devoted and loving mother, she was not only a guiding hand but also a best friend to her children. She adored her grandchildren and cherished every moment spent with them.

She embraced life with a sense of adventure and fun—trying everything from drag racing to boating with the “River Rats”—but was happiest when surrounded by her family, sharing laughter, stories, and love. A published author, Ruth took great pride in her work, which reflected her creativity, passion, and spirit.

Ruth is survived by her children, Douglas Fisher and his fiancée, Jennifer, of Framingham, and Kristin Ljunggren and her husband, Michael, of Niantic, CT. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren, William E. Fisher III, Kassaundra Fisher, Douglas Fisher Jr., Rebecca Ljunggren, Trevor Fisher and Mercedes Ljunggren; her step-grandchildren, Ryan O’Hara and Katie Drinkwater; her great-granddaughter, Kassidi Kennedy; many nieces and nephews; and her beloved grand-dogs, Bailey and Daisy. She is predeceased by her son, William E. Fisher Jr. and siblings, Martha Russo and Peter Worden.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 6th, at 1:00 p.m.Chesmore Funeral Home of Holliston, 854 Washington St. Burial will follow in Lake Grove Cemetery in Holliston.
