
Candidates Needed for Town Election

In a town like Holliston, there certainly must be qualified men and women who would be able to serve their community.
Review the current status of open positions and consider taking out papers to offer your expertise to the town.

The deadline for taking out the papers is April 5, 2010 and the deadline for returning them is April 20, 2010.
Here is the scoop as of today...
Jackie Dellicker is seeking another term as our Town Clerk, and Kevin Clancy is uncontested for Town Moderator.
There are three vying to be on the Board of Selectmen for three years are, as of today, Jay Marsden, Geoffrey Zeamer and John Blais.
Peter Barbieri is unopposed in his bid to return to the Board of Assessors.
There are three positions open on the Finance Committee , and two declared incumbents, Gordon Johnson and Ken Szajda. That leaves one unfilled position.
The Board of Health has one open position and Rich Maccagnano is seeking another term on the board.
The five-year stint on the Planning Board has Warren Chamberlain seeking reelection. Jack Donovan has taken out papers for the three- year opening. Jack has been on the board as an appointee to fill a vacancy.
The School Committee has two positions on the ballot, and three candidates. Virgina Murphy and Carol Emmons are seeking reelection and are challenged by Michael Benadon.
There are two offices on the Library Trustees, and incumbent Jim Pond has taken out papers, as has Philip Waterman, who has not previously served.
Water Commissioner Jared Adams is seeking reelection and is challenged by Carl Damigella for the single vacancy on the board.

There are two boards that currently have no candidates for the May ballot.
The Housing Authority has one five year term that is available, no one has taken out papers.
The Park Commissioners have two vacancies, each a three-year term of office. NO CANDIDATE
Consider how you might offer your expertise and experience to these positions and get involved with your community.
Visit the Town Clerk now and take out papers, anytime before April 5th. Return them by April 20th to get your name on the May 20th town ballot. Just do it.
